I went to a salon to ask for the price and the lady told me it will be around $1000 and the process will be around 8 hrs. Is this too much?, i thought it was pricey considering that is not a luxurious salon, haircuts are around $35 including shampoo and styling. Should I do it there?

I’m a guy, but my hair has this ugly as fuck curl/poof/flick when it grows long and I was thinking of doing this after I grow my hair out. Where do I get hair consultation? Is it at the place that will do it?

Also as a guy, I’m pretty foreign to all of this haircare, so what should I look out for when doing this?

I have poker straight hair but its coarse and poofy, does this Japanese process also relax the hair and make it lay flat?

when you hair grow it will be curl again..thats why it will be weird look when the hair start to grow at the front(at the hair root)..for people with curl hair.

no this process is some how different from a perm because when you have a perm if it gets wet or gets old it gets frizzy and stuff.this way,it stays straight all the time. and you only get your roots done.i have it and it rained yesterday and my hair is as straight as it was when i got it done. i love this it is worth the money !!

How does this not fry the hair? You straighten and wash it so much. I want this done though, I wonder how much it would cost where I live…

  15. slytherinx January 16, 2010 at 2:32 am #

it depends on how long your hair is

do they do this in most salons in the UK? straightners dont work for me,my hair only stays straight for 10-20 minutes, then it just starts to kink and wave again along with the frizz. i dont want a chemical straighner though as i have a sensitive scalp and i dont want chemicals anyway.

what product do you use .

  20. ValaFreyja March 26, 2010 at 7:59 pm #

on Ebay they sell Opti Smooth by Matrix. I have been using this for 3 yrs and it is a good product. I suggest the sensitive formula if you have color treated, or Caucasian hair. The normal formula did fry my hair a bit even when it was virgin non color treated. Also get a good iron! It MUST be a ceramic one but I don’t see a difference between the cheaper ceramic irons and the expensive ones. As long as it’s ceramic ionic it will work.

Oh and DO NOT tug or pull esp when ironing your hair after rinsing out the cream!!! That WILL cause breakage. I recently paid $100 at a salon to have a very experienced hairdresser do my straightening treatment and I will NEVER do that again! i am far more experienced that most hairdressers at this.
